That curry is usually yellow even when I get it extra hot which has a good burn to it as is. It was delicious but I payed for it in the morning.

I know it’s ‘just’ putting an X over the top for decoration only, but i think it’s sweet and nice that they make this dish personal like that. Awesome!

Gotta break out the wet wipes from the freezer for this one

Looks like they even spiced up the bread with some little bits of red chiles

I’m Indian, and when I go to my local Indian restaurant, I get level 3 medium and add my own reaper powder. I’ve found that anything above level 3 gets hotter at the expense of taste

I used to always go for Indian food with my friend from India that I worked with on my team. It was always good.. I figured out what I liked. Then he bought a house and had a housewarming party where his family from Hyderabad came over and they cooked. I went and he greeted me, introduced me to his family, put me in line to get a plate and left me so he could greet other guests. His mom, grandma, and aunties that made and were serving the food were all smiles and giggling as they piled my plate high, as me, the dumb American, smiled back, thinking it would be the same as what I was used to. I sat down and start eating… I swear, it was so spicy I was surprised the spoon didn’t melt. My face all red, every trip to get more Mango Lassi in attempts to tame the burning, they would laugh. I’m still friends with him and we laugh about it now… but at the time… and shortly after… I won’t go into detail, but I definitely was not laughing….

This is the culinary equivalent of walking into your barber and saying “fuck my shit up good.”

  7. What’s this specific curry dish called? Whats the crispy looking stuff in the curry? It looks so good.

There’s a local Thai place in my town, I asked for Panang Curry, spicy once. They asked “American spicy or Thai spicy?”. I said Thai and they unleashed Hell. Thought I was gonna die and loved it, but won’t be asking for it again anytime soon 😂🔥

I’ve asked for a 60/10 before and my local spot didn’t let me down. I love Indian food because it can be crazy hot and still delicious.

  10. Indian and Thai places I just tell them I want to experience the dish as they do, as authentic as possible. I’m not out to prove anything, but I am out to enjoy global cuisine as it should be. That said, I’m also making sure to go to authentic places not touristy/casual spots for the most part
